~Definition of ICA Boards~
Advisory Committee:
The advisory committee will come from many different counties across the state to hear the needs
of the state and bring these to the Board of Directors! These will consist of
providers, doctors, professors, etc.
Steering Committee:
The steering committee will bring the ICA together by putting into action, the
needs and projects of the Indiana Childcare Association!
To Whom This
May Concern,
I know there are many questions being asked, we will answer as
many as we possibly can. There are over 3000 Class I & Class II homes in the
state of Indiana, which means there are over 3000 opinions! Therefore, it would
be nearly impossible to ever organize a nucleus group, to plan the State
Association. The Association had to be started with a starter board, which was
selected from several counties in Indiana. Yes, we want every providers vote to
count, but during the organizing process a core group was needed. However,
there are 8 positions open on the advisory board and 9 positions on the steering
committee. The executive board will be voted on at the end of their term. All
votes in this Association will only come from those members of ICA who are Home
Childcare providers.
In the early stages of putting this association together it will
be essential that we do not prematurely associate ICA with other associations
that do not share the same agenda. This will allow us to maintain intensity on
our focus for Child Care Homes. Remember our focus is to fulfill the needs and
wants of Child Care Providers along with protecting their Family and Home Child
Care Rights.
Thank You all for your support, we are looking forward to
accomplishing our mission together with you!
