How do I contact my legislators?

****This entire process works the best if you have or you can download google tool bar... the address is www.toolbar.google.com  Its free, and it has Auto Fill in there.   Make sure you click on auto fill, and put your information in, so every time you have a form to fill out you just click on that auto fill in the tool bar.. No more filling everything out!  I am careful as to the real personal info I put in such as credit cards and such, but most is ok!

1.)  Write your letters in Word... Or Office, or even an email... Where  ever you write letters...
2.)  When you are ready Drag your mouse over everything to highlight your draft.  Hit Control + C   this copies it
3.)  Go to www.in.gov  (keep this in your fav's, there is a wealth of info here)
4.)  The right side of the screen has a link to  Elective Officials. (under state)
5.) In the next screen, click on State Legislatures
6.)Next screen click How to Contact your Legislature
7.)Next screen click Email Addresses
8.)There we are!!!  You have a full list of 150 Reps and Senators!
9.) Click on the first one...email your legislator...
10.) an email screen will pop up... Go up to your tool bar and click auto fill.. this will fill in the top information so you don't have to do any of that
11.) K... remember you have already copied your letter by Control+C.... So... Now.... where it says comments... click Control + V, and bingo,,, your letter should pop up.  If it doesn't go back to your letter and make sure you copied it right! (or if you loose it, just copy it again.. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE YOUR LETTER!!
12.) once  you have your letter on the comments, click the button to email!
Bingo!!! ITS DONE!

How can I get involved ?

We need EVERYONE in this battle!  I will be posting ideas, and pleas for help every so often on here.  The most immediate thing that can be done, is participating in our "Walk a Day in Our Shoes" campaign.  Collect those shoes.  Send them to the governors office November  13th.  We need letters written to the statehouse.  We also need letters sent to the Civil Liberties Union.   They need to hear from us in the masses!  When this hits the floor of the House and Senate, we will need massive calls and letters made to the Legislators!  We have lots to do!  Please email me with your specific questions!!

Why  is an Indiana Childcare Association Important ... ?

An Indiana Childcare Association has been long awaited!  The benefits are numerous!  Uniting as family child care providers, takes us off of our little islands, and helps encourage, strengthen, and promote quality childcare!  Insurance benefits can be obtained much easier, and our united voice is heard much louder!! For many years, parents and family home child care providers have not been properly informed of the latest legislative changes that have affect our families. Because of this, we have lost many of our rights. The  FSSA feels they can make better decisions for your family than you can. They have continually gained control of your families rights. It is time we gain back our family rights so please help us unite and gain our family rights back.  More information coming soon!!

When  Should a daycare become incorporated ... ?

Your Daycare should become incorporated as soon as you go into business. One big reason is with the prevalence of lawsuits this will keep your personal property protected (such as your home). There are many other reasons for doing this also contact you attorney for advise.
