Monday March 27th, 2005, the Northern Indiana
Childcare Providers, and Childcare Advocates came together to celebrate
an evening with our Legislators! State Representative Tim Neese,
and State Representative Jackie Walorski were the guests of the evening.
Both spoke about the importance of childcare in the state of Indiana.
They emphasized that childcare providers are vital to our economy, but
most of all to the children of Indiana. They mentioned the fact
that providers are not only "providers" but they are corporations.
They do it all! They reaffirmed their presence, and that they are
here with listening ears. Representative Walorski stated she was
encouraged that we now have a say in the process, and that the new FSSA
administration was now including the "stakeholders" in decisions,
including the regulation process. The ICA was also honored
to have Melanie Brizzi from FSSA attend the evening. She was very
helpful in answering questions, and gave updates on events about
to take place, including the regulation process. She praised the
ICA for their involvement, and their work with the Home Licensed
Childcare Providers. It was a wonderful evening! Please
watch for events like this all over the state! Many more are to come!
